Biography
Based in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, Cecilia Quiroga (aka Cci Kiu) is a multifaceted composer, vocalist, arranger, multinstrumentalist and teacher of Musical Artistic Training. Throughout her career, she has integrated vocal and instrumental ensembles of various styles, making a vast journey, ranging from the song genre to contemporary music fused with experimental electronics.
Her music is a journey through different soundscapes where she constantly appeals to an introspective, sensitive search, going through all possible stages, from her lyrics, to every detail that appears in the timbral that she selects.
The compositions are not limited to a specific style but rather seeks to overflow wherever it passes, with the force of rock, the unlimited search for sounds through styles such as glitch and experimental and the formation of textures that define his sound art as a hallmark of its music.
She uses all resources when composing, and she has the advantage of being able to program and record much of the music that she produces.
Her first record material called “Permiso para ser yo”, recorded in Daniel Kogan's studio, in 2015, in the city of Córdoba.
All of her artistic work is fused into a single expression, where she only gives priority to the freedom of being and doing.
The second album "Camaleonicx" is a challenge for CCi Kiu, from the sound conception to carrying out those ideas that were built in the incursion of other styles. She looks for every timbral detail, the planes, the fused textures, the contrast, the states. The lyrics reflect constant searches, love for the roots, the landscapes, the people around us. This new Camaleonicx animal symbolizes the different sensations that this album generates in me. Half lion representing strength and half chameleon representing versatility.
Finally, this album is released in CD format by the Melopea Discos label.
At the beginning of the year 2021, she launched her third record production, made in the middle of the pandemic, which shows that CCi Kiu is not an artist who is usually pigeonholed in a single musical direction. This work called “Open todo” places it within a Contemporary Electronic Pop with a strong presence of urban music.
