Biography
At the origin of the Earth, in its atmosphere, there was a lot of water, gases and rays. When these three elements came together, they gave rise to several substances that began to make the planet an environment suitable for life.
Celebrating 25 years of touring, bassist Alessandro Aru brought together several friends, members of different bands in the Alagoan rock music scene, who directly influenced his musical formation and who, at some point, participated in his history, to record the album Orígenes.
The musical career of this Maceio native contributes to this day with the most important chapters of the genre in his native land. Alessandro was part of the original lineup of the band Mopho – he plays vigorous bass with a velvety tone on the original recordings of A Geladeira, Uma Leitura Mineral Incrível, Mosca sobre a Cabeça and Eu Quero Tudo, four national rock classics. He was present on the demo-tape of the band's debut in 1997, which conquered hearts and minds throughout Brazil.
With his unique style, inspired by icons of the instrument in rock and roll – such as John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), John Entwistle (The Who) and Jack Bruce (Cream) – the bassist always presents a high-octane musicality, which It can be seen in the songs of bands such as Cores Astrais, Santo Samba, Cachorro Urubu and Messias Elétrico – of which he is a founding member and has two albums released by the Baratos Afins record label.
The relationship with the instrument is visceral to the point that several of his songs were originally composed on electric bass.
In the case of Origens, the project was formatted from songs composed by the bassist and which gave rise to a conceptual work, a single song, a kind of suite subdivided into six parts.
For the production of the work, we sought to record the most organic side of the musicians through “jam sessions” from which part of the recorded material was taken.
The idea of Orígenes can also be translated as a meeting to celebrate friendship and the recovery of what is most authentic when it comes to music: friends expressing their truths through sounds.
