Biography
Honduras is a band born in Buenos Aires, 2005. Once a quartet, quintet, sextet, and septet they are currently a trio formed by Alejandro Leonelli (vocals, bass), Alex Kodric (guitar) and Nicolas Kodric (organ and electronic drums).
Among its members are former Omar Grandoso (trombone), Ignacio Dominguez (sax), Gabriel Falciola (drums and percussion), Christian Stella (percussion), Hernán Calvo (percussion), Agustin Martiré (sax and clarinet reed) and Eugenio Varas (trumpet).
In Argentina Honduras has released 5 albums: “Honduras Libregrupo” (2006), “La única posición es la oposición” (2008, azar023), “Honduras 3” (2009, azar029), “Célula dormida” (2010, azar33) and “Cinco” (2014). Also a Split vinyl LP "Cyrus Pireh & Honduras" joined with the prestigious American Experimental Noise Music guitarist.
In 2007 they recorded a risky Castilian version of “Sea Song” by Robert Wyatt and in 2009, Gabriel Falciola (former drummer of Honduras) and Alejandro Leonelli accompanied Damo Suzuki in his second appearance at the ND / Ateneo, with Pez, Alan Courtis, Fernando Perales and Charly Zaragoza (of ÜL) and Hernan Mirror (Companion Asthma).
Many of the 50 recent concerts performed by the band were as Célula Dormida de Honduras Libregrupo (CDHL), a reduced formation of the band created to perform in small spaces, with a strictly improvised repetoire.
After a long time of not saying anything, Honduras presents new material. Through the Viajero Inmóvil Records label, his new album is released in July 2019, entitled "El cimarrón".
