Biography

Darío Íscaro, guitarist and composer born in Córdoba (Argentina) in 1970, creator among other groups of Jazz and Contemporary Music “Antihéroe”" and the trio "Desatanudos" (both leaders in the field of jazz and fusion of Córdoba). With his trio "Desatanudos" he was invited to perform as the opening act at the concert of the quintet of renowned bassist Dave Holland at the Teatro Comedia in the city of Cordoba in 2002. In the same year he toured with the trio of several Mexico cities: Oaxaca, Xalapa and Mexico City, among others. With his group of Jazz-Fusion “Antihéroe” he was invited to attend the Jazz Festival Valparaiso (Festin Jazz 2005 - Chile), with this group he released two CDs, the first “Antihéroe” in 1997 (EPSA Music ) and the second in 2008 “Entretejido Cósmico” by Viajero Inmóvil Records label (Bs.As). He participated as a soloist in concert with Lalo Schifrin in Cordoba in 2006, with the musicians Oscar Giunta and Jerónimo Carmona and Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba. He accompanied among others Ruben Juárez, Susana Rinaldi and Paola Bernal. He joined nine years the Orquesta Provincial de Música Ciudadana de Córdoba and served for eight years as a teacher in the chair of guitar in Escuela de Música Popular “La Colmena” in the same city. He participated with the latter trio Desatanudos International Jazz Festival Cordoba 2009 and the duo Zeppa / Íscaro was presented at the last edition of the Festival de Jazz de Santa Fe made in March 2010. Currently living in Buenos Aires, he founded "Dario Íscaro Trio" (Contemporary Jazz) with bassist and drummer Flavio Romero Martin Vicente, with this group has just released his first CD. In his solo performances, shows the mixture of two musical worlds of the compositions for single electric guitar with elements of Jazz and reinventions of Tango, Contemporary Music and World Music. In these compositions you can appreciate his melodies and harmonies features. In the other world, the environmental sound performances, use technology to process the sound of the guitar. The latter occur spontaneously and are based on grounds or phrases that are building Mantric textures upon which improvisation and melodic constructions that often lead to public displays free images develop.
