Biography

Habitat began in the early '80s and stopped their activity with two concerts at General San Martín Cultural Center, in October 1984. In those concerts they also played soft acoustic moments of antique music with lute.

A brief second period took place in 1987 with some new musicians. This new music was played with  much more rythm. But only performed four shows at pubs, recording a demo with two songs.

In those two periods Habitat played a symphonic and progressive rock emphatising on  the melodies, writing -in a literary aspect- fantastic images inspired on Tolkien's Books, with words in Spanish.

The New Era  of Habitat began in 1994. “Historias Olvidadas” (Forgotten Stories), the first independent production, includes old songs from two other periods played it with new arrangements. “Historias...” was released in cassette in September 1997 and latter in cd (October 1998) with four bonus tracks.

The second production, “Baúl Repleto De Sugerencias”   (Chest Filled Up With Suggestions) -June 2001-, is a darker cd than the former one, with actual sounds and new tendences.

In October 2006 the band released “Puente” (Bridge), the third cd that includes the most powerful songs from first cd.

The fourth cd, “Tratando De Respirar En La Furia” (Trying to breathe amidst fury) was released in August 2010 and received the better reviews. It was co-produced for Lizard Records from Italy. This cd was among the ten finalists for best album in 2010 in Prog Awards in Italy and was named Album of the Month  in Progressive Rock and Progressive Metal from Brasil.

In 2012 Habitat released a Remix from first cd, celebrating fifteen years from its original release.

The shows include dancers, human statues and selected clothes.

In the argentinian Summer 2014 they will release a new cd: “Utensilios y Artilugios” (Utensils and Craftiness) approaching to the gothic atmospheres.

At the beginning of 2021, Hábitat is constituted in a trio format (Aldo Pinelli, Carlos Vidal & Ricardo Henestroza), celebrating its 40th Anniversary since its first concert with its own songs, and released a new studio album, whose musical proposal is to revert great songs of Italian Progressive Rock, this new edition is entitled "Hans, La Niña y El Príncipe", where he performs songs by bands of the stature of Premiata Forneria Marconi, Le Orme, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Celeste and Fiaba, as well as a own composition as a bonus track.
