Biography

Born in Camilo Aldao, (Córdoba, Argentina) in 1964.

Influenced musically by his saxophonist father, he entered the Music School and band General Manuel Belgrano at the age of 5 years.

To the 19 years motivated by the musicians of Mariano Mores it is rooted in Buenos Aires where it studies with Robert “Fats” Fernández the trumpet and with Pedro Aguilar composition.

In the 80s he works with artists of Rock and Jazz, Charly Garcia, David Lebòn, Fito Páez, Soda Stereo, Mariano Tito, Américo Belloto, Ziegler Lapouble y asc., among others.

In the Funk, Jazz Rock and the Latin formed part of the groups Volpini band, the Ghetto and Macondo respectively.

In 1991 he is awarded a scholarship by the Berklee College of Music and completes the studies graduating with diploma in composition of Jazz. In Boston he integrates the groups of Giovanni Hidalgo and the Big Bang of Guillermo Klein.

He lives in New York for 4 years where he takes trumpet lessons with Victor Paz and is part of groups of local Jazz scene like Timbalaye with Ralph Irizarry, Magali Souriaou Big Band and the group led by Guillermo Klein Los Guachos, with who also along with Oscar Feldman and Matt Pavolka form Argentos.

Argentos formed in 1996 in New York, recording in 1998 the first CD "Los Argentos", directed by Richard Nant and adding for this occasion Jeff Ballard and Diego Urcola.

Returning to Buenos Aires in 2000, Nant rearranged Argentos and recorded the second CD "Manifestando", and the third, "Vetas" (2008), along with musicians Pablo Rodriguez, Pipi Piazzolla, Gustavo Musso, Álvaro Torres and Matías Méndez among others.

Alan Plachta joins for the “Vetas” presentations, including a presentation with Miguel Zenón as guest saxophonist.

In 2011 they record "Alberto Ginastera x Argentos" within the "Raras Partituras" cycle produced by the National Library.

From 2013 onwards they work on new music with Álvaro Torres (piano), Richard Nant (trumpet and percussion), Matías Méndez (bass), Carto Brandán (drums), Gabriel Juncos (flute) and Alan Plachta (guitar).

He is currently part of La bomba de tiempo and leads the group Argentos with whom he has published his first work "70s" in early 2017, edited by Club del disco.
